CRICKET.
POKENO V. BOMBAY. On Saturday last our cricketers journeyed over to Bombay to play the final match for Eositionsin the Franklin Cricket Association, [ad our men won, this and the Bombay Club would have been a tie for second place. Bombay, however, beat our boys by 13 runs, and secured second place for number of winning matches, Tuakau coming out first. Mr. F. H. Brown, ot the Tuakau team, is the winner of the Association Cup for highest batting average. The Pokeno team is the youngest in the Association, and getting into third place in its first season should have the effect of putting new life into it by next season. Some of our bowlers, too, I understand, are well up in the average, a result of which, I presume, will be published when quite completed.—[Own Correspondent]
