CONCERT AT PANMURE PUBLIC HALL.

The refined and unique performance by the minstrel troupe of H.M.a. Katoomba on Monday evening last, in St. Patrick's Hall, Panmure, was truly worthy of the very large and appreciative audience. Every item of the well-selected programme was rendered with a measure of effectiveness and . finish that failed not to call forth an expression of unusual appreciation on the part of all present. The prevailing opinion appeared to be that never before had bo interesting and so unique a performance been given in the homely and hospitable village of Panmure. Monsignor McDonald presided on the occasion, and appeared to have been extremely pleased. At the close of the entertainment he expressed in a few wellselected and telling sentences his high appreciation of its merits and his extreme gratitude to the kind and talented artistes who had that evening afforded both himself and neighbours such an exceptional treat. He concluded his remarks by stating that should the artistes of the good ship Katoomba return at some future date to Pamure, the cead milh failthe would await them. Father Walter omitted not to say that he was under many obligations to Captain Bickford and officers for having kindly permitted the Minstrel Troupe to favour Panmure by their presence, and it is needless to say that ringing cheers were given for him, the officers, and troupe. Mr. G. Smith supplied the after music* with his usual ability, and that to the entire satisfaction of all; while Mr. P. Mclnnerney was highly complimented for the admirable manner in which he discharged , his duties as M.C. The evening was one of the most enjoyable passed at Panmure for many a long day.
