ON behalf of the Government, which has now acquired most of the interests of the Aboriginal Owners of the Hauturu or Little Barrier Island, I hereby give notice that none but the present Aboriginal Owners and those who were in lawful occupation before the publication of the Governor's Notification in the New Zealand Gazette and Kahiti referring to the Purchase of llauturu will henceforth be allowed to reside on the island ; and that any person Cutting Down Timber or Shrubs, or removing same therefrom, or Digging Gum, or Destroying Birds, or Introducing Bees, or Lighting Fires, &c., Ac., will be Prosecuted.
