THE ELECTION PETITION
Prets Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. London, November 17. The petition against the return of the Hon. A. J. Balfour has collapsed. London, November 18. The case for the election petition against Mr. Balfour chiefly depended on the evidence of a barber, who declared that he had received £15 from Mr. Balfour's agent for the purpose ol bribing electors. He admitted, however, that he expected to receive £200 if the petition was successful. The Judges considered this witness's evidence a pure fabrication.
