Yesterday morning the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.'s steamer Rangatira came out of Calliope Dock, where she has been cleaning and painting. In the evening she sailed for Newcastle, taking a shipment of kauri gum, wool, &c, for London. The barque Natal Queen is to sail for Pain to-day to load timber for Sydney. The ship Timaru will probably sail for Melbourne to-day, where she is to load for The new pearling ketoh Masootte, which has been built by Messrs. Lane and Brown, has sailed from Whangaroa to Thursday Island, Captain o.l* Olaen being in charge. She is similar to other pearlers that have been built by Lane and Brown. The Union S.S. Co.'s steamer Tayiuni is expected here from Wellington on Tuesday morning early, and will leave for Suva and Levuka in the evening. The Union S.S. Co.'s steamor Manapouri arrives here from the South on Tuesday morning, and leaves for Sydney in the evening. The Norwegian barque New Zealand has completed the discharge of her cargo, and is taking in ballast. She leaves for Samoa early next week to load copra for Europe. At the Kauri Timber Company's wharf, the brig Vision is taking in a quantity of timber for Sydney. She is to sail this mornins for Mangonui to complete her loading. Yesterday the barqueatine Grecian Bend arrived at Lyttelton from Woolgoolga with coal. The barquentine Frank Guy came out of the Auckland Dock yesterday afternoon and berthed at the breastwork. The coastal schooner Awauui has nearly completed her loading for the East Coast, and will probably sail to-day. Theoutter Paku will sail forOhiwaand Opotiki to-morrow evening. The barque Wenona is loading timber at Aratapu for Sydney. The Auckland schooner Sovereign is to leave Sydney shortly for a cruise to the New Hebrides and back. The barque Devonport, which left Newcastle for this port on the 29th instant, has 200 tons of kerosene shale from Sydney. The well - known schooner Saucy "Lass, which was built at Omaha in 1804, and was for many years engaged in the coastal trade here, being subsequently sold to Sydney parties, has again changed hands. She is now owned by Mr. G. V. Sheridan, of Sydney, who intends to employ her in the Island trade. THE MONOWAI. The mail steamer Monowai, Captain M. Carey, arrived alongside the Queen-street Wharf about half-past eleven o'clock last night from Sydney. Mr. J. Ness Keith, the Eurser, to whom we are indebted for our les and despatches, reports that the steamer left Sydney at 5.30 p.m. on the 31st instant, passing Russell at 4 p.m. yesterday, and arriving in harbour as above, having experienced fane weather throughout. The steamer would have arrived much earlier than she did, but her progress was considerably de-i layed owing to the prevalence of a strong easterly swell. As soon as she was berthed werk was started at shipping her outward cargo of flax, etc. The Monowai resumes her voyage to Samoa, Honolulu, and San Fransisce at 2 p.m. to-day. NAVAL INTELLIGENCE. H.M.S. Orlando, the flagship of the Australasian squadron, was at Melbourne on October 31: also H.M.S. Taurauga. H.M.S. Rapid had arrived at Sydney from the Solomon Islands, and was m port on October 31. H.M.S. Royalist has been in dock at Sydney for an "overhaul. H.M.S. Ringdove left Noumea on October 12 for the New Hebrides. The cruisers Wallaroo, Mildura, and Karrakatta were at Sydney on October 31. H.M.S. Lizard and CuraOoa are expected at Sydney shortly from the Islands. H.M.S. Dart is at the New Hebrides. NEW CALEDONIA SHIPPING. The Pakeha, from Wellington, arrived at Noumea on the 12th October, and sailed for Townsville on the 23rd October. The schooner St. Aubyn arrived on the 19th October from the New Hebrides with 136 recruits, and was to leave for Sydney about the 3ist October. The Cloncurry arrived at Ouaco from Townsville on the 19th October. The steamer Angers has arrived at Thio to load nickel ore. The steamer Kone is to go to Sydney for repairs. She had met with an accident to machinery. The Dordogne, from Dunkirk, will have 1300 tons water pipes, the Adour brings pipes. The new French warship Durance arrived at Noumea from Papeete oa the 16th October. She is to wait lor the Scorff, now on her way there, to be added to the New Hebrides commission. The four-masted schooner Olga left Noumea on the 16th October for Newcastle. The French warships Saone, Loyalty, and Thetis were at Noumea on October 22.
