In the bay at anchor rides 11.M.5. Fly, cleared ready for action, preparing to annihilate the belligerent natives. Prominent in the foreground stands Sir George Grey, accompanied by Colonel Wynyard and officers of the fleet and army, engaged in dictating terms of withdrawal to the Maori chiefs. This picture of a critical event in our national history is completed with a most peaceful background of the islands of the Hauraki Gulf, North Shore, and Rangitoto.
