FATAL ACCIDENT ON ROTORUA RAIL CONTRACT.
[by telegraph.— own corrkspondent.] Rotorua, Monday. Denny Mahoney, a workman employed on McLean and Sons' railway contract, was killed this afternoon by a fall of earth. Death was instantaneous, deceased's neck having been broken. Mahoney was a married man, his wife and three children residing in Auckland. An inquest will take place, but some inconvenience in this matter is being felt on account) of the absence of Constable Murray, who left this morning with McMath, prisoner, en route for Auckland.
