The Countess of Glasgow had a handsome dress of rich pale blue moire, relieved with pink, and striped with gold. She wore a diamond necklace and coronet of diamonds, and carried a magnificent bouquet. The dancers thoroughly enjoyed themselves, notwithstanding that the room was rather crowded, for the music, played by Mr. Eady's band, was excellent, and the floor admirable for dancing purposes. Messrs. James Russell and S. T. George were masters of ceremonies. The walls of the ball-room were festooned with flags, and adorned with large mirrors which gaily reflected the scene, while the covered balcony adjoining was a charming resort for quiet conversation, free from the heat and stir of the room whore the dancers were. The supper tables were tastefully laid, the menu comprising the choicest dishes. The decorations were the work of Messrs. Winks and Hall.
