On Saturday afternoon the Northern Steamship Company's steamer Waiotahi arrived from Opotiki with 849 sacks maize, 205 sheep, and a quantity of sundries. She leaves for Tauranga and Opotiki to-morrow evening. Yesterday morning the Northern Steamship Company's steamer Clansman arrived from Tauranga with a number of passengers. She leaves for Russell and the North at seven o'clock this evening. The schooner Medora arrived from Awanui and Ohora on Saturday morning with a fuh cargo of kauri gum, hides, and sundries. The schooner \V aiapu sailed for Gisborne on Saturday afternoon. She calls at Tairua to ship a quantity of timber. On Saturday the barquentine Yolande cleared outwards at the Customs for Melbourne, via Hokianga. At the latter port she loads with baulk timber. The American barques Essex and Doris Eekhoff both commenced discharging cargo on Saturday. The cutter Tevoit arrived from Mangawai on Saturday with a quantity of kauri gum and produce. The fine scow built by Mr. George Niccol, at bis yards at the North Shore, particulars of which were give in a recent issue of the Herald, was successfully launched on Saturday afternoon, the christening ceremony being done by Mru.
