[by , TKfiKORAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Monday. A strong north-east gale, accompanied by a steady downfall of rain, has prevailed here for the last twenty-four hours, and still continues. The s.s. Ohinemuri had a pretty rough trip down from Auckland this morning, but arrived safely shortly after eight o'clock. Information reached here this afternoon that a man named Dan Bartlett was found dead in his tohare at Neavesville, Tairua Ranges, yesterday. Mr. W. Collins and Constable Bern left here this evening, for the purpose of instituting inquiries into the cause of death.
