BANKRUPTCY.
MEETINGS OF CREDITORS. A meeting of creditors in the estate of A WawiiKin, was hold at the office of the Offi' cial Assignee ye-terday afternoon. There were present : The bankrupt and his solicitor (Mr. Johnston), and Messrs. Knight, Norris, Miller, Shepherd, Taylor, Mcßride, and Walker. The bankrupt was examined with reference to the claims of J. Walker and others, and with reference to his visit to Wellington. Ho was at present iu receipt of £2 15s per week. He had not kept books of any kind, but would furnish an account of his expenditure for the last six months as nearly as he could. Air. Mcßrido stated that a number of those whose names were placed upon the list as creditors were really dummies. He moved, " That a committee be appointed to investigate the affairs of the bankrupt and report, such committee to consist of Messrs. Norris, Taylor, and Mcßride." The meeting then adjourned until the rejwrt was prepared.
