[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Tun Wellington Labour Bureau found employment for 53 men last week. SEAMEN ROBBED. The bunks of two seamen on the Talune, at Wellington, were robbed of £30 and a watch and chain. LIBEL ACTION. The case at Dunedin of Solomon v. Lister, of the Otago Workman, was settled, defendant agreeing to publish an unreserved apology, in which he admits the story was, so far as Solomon was concerned, pure fabrication. A CHARGE OF SHEEP-STEALING DISMISSED. The investigation of the charge of sheepstealing preferred against A. R. Hay and Henry Hay, two settlers of Southland, accused of having stolen 133 sheep, the property of A. D. . Wallis, Morton Mains, was continued before Mr. Rawson, R.M., at Invercargill, and dismissed, after a trial of three days. A BANKRUPT'S AFFAIRS. The statement in bankruptcy of R. B. Williams, Invercargill, showed : Unsecured creditors, £2933; secured, £2*25/ ; less securities, £2780, and a further sum owing to guarantors of £1250. The bankrupt attributed his losses to a breach of faith on the part of a bank, and to severe illness at a critical period of affairs. SODDEN DEATHS. A man named George Johnston, 80 years of age, died suddenly at Blight's restaurant, Christehurch, on Saturday evening. He had been staying there for the last five months, but took to bed two days before his death. A youth aged 18, C A. Bell, living with his brother and sister at Sydenham, died , suddenly on Saturday evening.
