IDs 111!. Tue balance sheet was approved as read, and considered highly satisfactory. As a natural outcome, the thanks of the society were accorded to tho officers and committee, and the secretary, Mr. Hook. At this point a letter was read from the acting secret i ,- y of the newly-formed Agricultural Association at Ma'.n^' ituroto, rcpicstin amalgamation of interests, when it was unanimously resolved, "That this meeting, having neaid the proposal from MauugaturoLo to amalgamate, with a view to a travelling .show, begs to remind the settlers of that district | that the history of the past must nave been j forgotten, this plan having been tried and I proved a failure. The North Kaipara Agricultural Society having established a .successful institution, begs to decline the proposal, and requests the above settlement to reconsider its decision, and join heartily in sup- < porting the North Kaipara Agricultural Society." A letter was read from Mr. M. Harding, of Wairoa, asking lor a, copy of the rules in view of starting a Farmers' Club in that district, it was resolved to write assurI ing the W airoa of our goodwill and sympaI thy. However, tie; judges were guided in their choice by the wording of the show-bill, " The best; iioiiquct of Wild Flowers.' ft is needless to say the meeting upheld their decision. Further correspondence was read from persons who were unable to be present, but who were in accord with the Society. The election of oliiecrs resulted t litis ; — President, Mr. K. Coates, J.
