As a natural outcome, the thanks of the society were accorded to tho officers and committee, and the secretary, Mr. Hook. At this point a letter was read from the acting secret i ,- y of the newly-formed Agricultural Association at Ma'.n^' ituroto, rcpicstin amalgamation of interests, when it was unanimously resolved, "That this meeting, having neaid the proposal from MauugaturoLo to amalgamate, with a view to a travelling .show, begs to remind the settlers of that district | that the history of the past must nave been j forgotten, this plan having been tried and I proved a failure. The North Kaipara Agricultural Society having established a .successful institution, begs to decline the proposal, and requests the above settlement to reconsider its decision, and join heartily in sup- < porting the North Kaipara Agricultural Society."
