AUCKLAND. Messrs. A. Buck land and Sons' Weekly Report.At the Haymarket during the past week meadow hay has ranged from 2s to 3s ; oats in sheaves, Is 0d to 2s 3d the. cwt; maize on wharf, Is Sd, in store. Is lOd : oats. Is Gd to Is 9d ; barley, Is 9.1 to '2s (id ; cocksfoot, 4s 9d to 6s 3d ; ryegrass, 3s 6d to 4s 3d the bushel; potatoes, MUs to 40s; chaff, 60s the ton ; clovers, 8d to lid the lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows in full numbers, kept their values, those at profit ranged from £4 10s to £7 5s each; store cattle, in usual supply, sold more freely than last week ; young cattle were better worth : fat cattle in full number, 299 yarded, sold irregularly, but only second class quality sullercd ; good steers averaged 19s the 1001b ; calves in full number, 52 sold, kept last week's prices. Sheep in usual supply, 930 sold were firm : Wethers at 3d, ewes 2Jd the lb; prices for wethers were lis to 17s 3d; ewes, 9s to 13s ; lambs, 7s to 10s each. Pigs short of usual number, well-bred pigs at late values, porkers brought from His to '255, heavy pigs 35s to 41s, coarse pigs were scarcely competed for. Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Retort.— At the Durham Yards this week business has been fairly brisk in grain and seeds. We quote : — Maize, Is 8d to Is Ski on wharf, and Is 9d to Is 10(1 in store; oats, is 1 Oil to 2s 3d per bushel; Poverty Bay grass seed, Gs lid to 7s ; cocksfoot, 6s to 7s per bushel; bran, £4 per ton; pressed hay, £3 10s to £4. Horses : At our usual weekly sale on Friday at the Durham Yards there was a large muster of all classes. A draft of half-breds got by King Cole, Brigadier, and Lionel were in very low condition, and consequently no high figures were reached, the highest juice being 11 guineas; a filly by King Cole out of Zip, 7 guineas; a brown foal by Brigadier, 11 guineas. Several thoroughbreds, trotters, aifil racing ponies were offered, but failed to find purchasers. An upstanding hack fetched £16 15s; light hacks, £3 to t9 ss; draught, £8 10s to £14; heavy, £16 5s to £18. Wool, Gd to GJd pieces and cotted fleeces, 3d to 5d per lb Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards, on Tuns day, stock of all descriptions was plentiful Dairy cows in demand up to £7 ; stores were in good demand. Beef: Bidding was brisk, at about 18s to 193 per 10011). Averages of steers, £7 18s Gd, £7 13s. £7 ss, £7 2s Gd, £6 7s Gd, £6 5s 6d ; cows, £6 ss, £5 ss, 15#>£4 16s Gd, £3 12s Gd. Sheep were yarded in large numbers, both sliipborne and local, and sold at an advance of last week. Heavy wethers, 15s 9(1 to 18s 3d; medium, lis 9d to 15s; ewes, 9s to 15s; merinos, 9s to 10s Gd : lambs, Gs Gd to lis 3d. Pigs : Pens were filled of a very good class, and sold at from 143 to £2 12s Gd each. Messrs. G. W. Binney and Sons report that the usual full catalogue of hides, skins, tallow, etc.. was quitted under brisk competition.
