LORD ONSLOW'S WEST COAST TRIP.

The West Coast Times correspondent telegraphs from Pembroke:—"Tho Governor and Minister ot Public Works party arrived here at half-past seven last night. Tho party aro in excellent spirits, arid arrived at each place according to the time fixed. The people of South Westland were very pleased to see Ilia Excellency, and accorded him a right hearty welcome. A procession of thirty equestrians into Okarito reminded one of that township i.i the early days. Not only wero the people kind but the weather was also favourable. The Governor is delighted with his visit, and cannot understand why thero should be any alarm, for with ordinary caro there is not the slightest danger. The scenery, he says, is the grandest ami most gorgeous he has ever seen, and with roads slightly improved he considered that tourists from all parts of tho world would visit it in large numbers. The Francis Joseph glacier alone he considers stands unequalled in beauty. Tho party proceeded by coach to-day for Queonstown "
