CONNECTION BETWEEN AUCKLAND AND TARANAKI.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Plymouth, Thursday. A large meeting, convened by tho Mayor, was held last evening with respect to connecting Auckland and Taranaki by roads. A resolution was passed urging on the Government the necessity of immediately constructing a good coach road from Stratford via the East Road, by a line already surveyed to the Central Railway route, anil that a branch be similarly constructed by the Mimi North Road until they intersect the central. A committee was appointed to carry out the resolution.
