BANKRUPTCY.
DEBTOR'S STATEMENT. Richard Reeves, a bankrupt, made tho following sworn statement before the OlKcial Assignee yesterday —lam a butcher by trado, and was formerly in business on my own account, but for the last sixteen months have been working as a journeyman at 42s per week. I have a wife and four children. One of the latter earns 12s per week, and the rest go Co school. Prior to sixteen months ago 1 had been in business about 26 years, and had to give ib up on account of falling off in trade, bad debts, etc. Everything I had was sold except a small quantity of furniture. My present indebtedness of £171 16s was contracted before I gavo up business. 1 have nob paid off any of the old debts during tho last sixteen months, because it was as much as I could do to pay my way. I could nob possibly maintain my family for less than my present wages, and I see no presenb prospecb of bebbering my position. I have borrowed the money to file with. Ib was necessary that I should .file, because I have gob a judgment summons to respond to tomorrow. Beyond furniture to the value of less than £10 I have nothing whatever in the nature of assets.
