A NEW LEADER.

\ BLAVATSKY'S SUCCESSOR CHOSEN AT LAST. New York, July 11.—Mme. Blavatsky, whose death left vacant the leadership in the occult world, will shortly have a successor. The person who will occupy the throne is none other than Lawyer William G. Judge, of 35. Nassau street. Lawyer Judge is also a publisher, and for many veal's ho has occupied a position second only to Mine. Blavatsky's in the theosophical world. Judge is at present in London, conferring with leading theosophists of that city, which is tho home of theosophy. He will shortly arrive in this city, and when ho steps upon American soil from the dock of the Atlantic steamer it will bo as tho king and high ruler of thco3ophy and everything pertaining to it. Much surprise will bo occasioned when it becomes known that Lawyer Judge will in tho futuro pilot the theosophical ship through this commonplace and unbolieving world. Lesser thcosophical lights generally supposod that after tho death of Blavatsky Annie Besanb would be chosen as her successor. From a well-known theosophist ill New York, who asked that her name be withheld, a reporter learned tho mode of electing the successor of Mmo. Blavatsky. At a recent convention in Boston of thcosophists an alleged communication was received from tho deceased Blavatsky to the effect that Judge was tho man to be trusted on any and all occasions. In ]31avatslcy's will Judge was especially mentioned, and just before her death sho left him a secret of vast and vital importance to the success of theosophy. She also gave him a signet ring which is believed to be possessed of extraordinary power. All these things being considered, it was natural that Judge should bo Blavatsky's successor. Hut Ins claim to leadership was established in a more positive manner, at least in tho theosophical mind. Mmc. Blavatsky, in tho spirit, appeared at a chosen timo and thcro sclocted Judge to wear her crown.
