UNIONIST DEMONSTRATION AGAINST THE SHEARERS.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN correspondent.] : Wellington, Sunday. It is rather significant of the sore feeling engendered by the late strike, that when the Waihora was leaving the Wellington wharf yesterday afternoon with a large number of shearers on board for Sydney the men were hooted and groaned at by sections of the unionists on the wharf. The shearers good-humouredly responded to the hostile feeling shown by cheering lustily as the Waihora steamed off.
