London, May 29. In the course of a speech to-day Mr. Gladstone, in referring to the expulsion of the Jews from Russia, said that nothing was to be gained by denouncing the revolting treatment to which they are subjected, and it > would be ' better to appeal to the European public, after preparing a digest of the exceptional laws of Russia.
