THE NEW ZEALAND ANTIMONY COMPANY.

BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

Wellington, Thursday. A meeting of shareholders of the New Zealand Antimony Company, which had

been convened in consequence of the reports which had arrived from London as to the intention of the London Board to close the mine for the time being, was held this afternoon. Nearly the whole of the resident shareholders were present. The policy of the London Board was condemned as likely to prove most disastrous to the best interests of the shareholders, the general impression being that as the mine was now paying its way it ought not to be shut down, even for a few months. A committee was appointed to confer with the Hon. E. Richardson, attorney for the company, and arrange, if necessary, for a guarantee from shareholders to continue mining operations.
