RESULTS OF THE FINANCIAL YEAR.

Every item, of revenue shows an increase on the estimate except depasturing licenses, etc., which are £4717 to the bad. Under the heading expenditure, there was £57,05S loss on certain items than estimated, but > on the remainder the excess of expenditure cams to £106,693; so thai altogether the expenditure was £49,605 above the estimate. Working the railways cost £27,892 more than anticipated ; the Defence Department, £14,711 subsidies, £14,658 ; under special Acts, £19,140 ; Colo dial Treasurer's Department, £11,166; and services not provided for, £10,410. On the other hand, interest and sinking fund came to £17,369 less than the estimate ; the Education Department, £16,581 ; Public Buildings, £7994; and Commissioner of Trades and Customs, £7663. The principal items in which there was excess of revenue over the estimate were Customs, £74,706, in which, however, is included six month*' primage duty ; railways, £43,321 ; stamps, £19,190 ; miscellaneous, £9004. Tho total excess of revenue over the estimate was £151,004. In the land .'fund section the estimated receipts were £96,600 ; but cash sales alone produced £111,157. The excess above tho estimnto was £67,669. The receipts under Ordinary Revenue Account, including £288,000 sinking fund, were £4,252,504 ; and tha expenditure, Ordinary Revenue Account, £4,175,107.
