THE BAR AT PORT CHALMERS.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Dpnedi.s, Thursday. At the Harbour Board meeting to-day the inspector's report stated that careful comparison with the soundings of last year showed that the changes (luring the year had been satisfactory. There was an improvement of six inches on the bar, the least depth with low water being now 24 feet 6 inches, and by diverging a little from the leading light another foot is secured. The recently-out channel maintains its depth, and the advantages it offers to large steamers are greatly appreciated.
