Revolting details have come to hand of the fate of the persons captured by the Manipuris. Commissioner Quinton, two officers, and a bugler were hacked to pieces, and their mutilated bodies thrown outside the walls of Tamu and devoured by dogs. Mr. Grimwood and two other officers were shot, and their bodies similarly treated. Lieutenant Grant's ammunition was almost exhausted when he was relieved.
