DRAUGHTS MATCH.
A good deal of interest has been manifested in the projected draughts match, City v. Newton and Ponsonby (cembined), which is to take place at the Park Hotel, at half-past seven p.m., on Saturday next. The best players in the city and suburbs have been picked for both teams, and the scores are expected to be pretty close. The following are the names of the competitors : — City Team.—H. Henderson (captain), J. G. Blakie, W. Munro, J. S. Johnstone, J. Kelly, J. Craig. W. Lockhart, W. Wood, J. Leonard, J. Johns, J. Wright, and C. Smith. Newton and Ponsonby.—C. Gunthorp S captain), R.
