Press Association.Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. DEATH OF SIR F. MURPHY. , Melbourne, March 31. The death is announced of Sir F. Murphy, ;etat 83. He was formerly Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and was one of the Commissioners who decided on the site of the capital for New Zealand.
HEAVY RAINFALL. Brisbane, March 31. _ The heaviest rain known for years is" now falling in the disturbed districts. THE WEATHER AND THE HOLIDAYS. Sydney, March 31. Fine weather was experienced for the holidays all over Australia, except in Tasmania and a portion of Victoria.
