ST. MARK'S CHURCH.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— local of this morning, referring to " Churchman's " complaint that the financial accounts of St. Mark's Church, Remuera, have not been published, is easily answered. The annual meeting of the parishioners was held on the 27th of January, and was very largely attended. Copies of the vestry's usuaj report, and statement of the receipts and. expenditure, were placed in the seats ol the. church on the Sunday preceding this meeting, and this report and statement were laid before the meeting, discussed, and au'lopted. The " defaults " (if there are-any) referred to by *' Churchman," are made-very clear and manifest in the report and accounts, i copies of which I take upon myself to enclose herewith. No reporter attended the meeting, and I suppose that is the reason why there has not been any public reference to the financial position of the church. If " Churchman " will give his name and address, I will see that he receives a copy of the report and accounts, and I am sure the officers and congregation will give him every facility foe "preparing the way for future improvements.''' I am sorry he should have felt at necessary to complain to you about such.vi* subject.—l am, &c, Edwin Hesketh-'^- • Epsom; February 4,1891.
