' h * Fifth—The operations of the year raised the annual 1 income of the Society from £1,512,280 to £1,625,185, an increase in twelve months ni :] £112,905. 1 I Sixth—The Accumulated Fund was increased durinz e the year by the sum of £742,311, equal to 71M--3 cent, of the gross premiums received. Seventh—The deaths among lives assured were 649 under 735 policies, causing claims upon the Society amounting to £299,602, irrespective of I bonus additions, wnile the number expected according to the tables used in estimating the liabilities would have been 1143 for an amount of £438,976, the mortality experience being thus extremely favourable. ~ ' Eighth—The receipts from Interest and Rents were £516,832, an amount exceeding the sum paid foi the claims by £138,952. Ninth— expenses of management were only 9 5 | per cent, of the total receipts.
