Perth, January 23. The Assembly have passed an addros3 of thanks to Australia and New Zealand, for their services in connection with the Bill granting a constitution.
THE FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, January 23. Great anxiety is felt in Bourke at the prospect of another flood. The Darling has risen six feet, and is still rising.
MUBDEE OF A CAPTAIN. Sydney, January 23. Captain Craig, of the schooner Sandfly, was shot dead at Makira, in the Solomon Group, by a returned native recruit.
THE VICTORIA'S PASSENGERS. Melbourne, January 23. The passengers by the R.M.s. victoria have been vaccinated and landed.
THE FEDERAL COUNCIL. Hobaet, January 22. In the Federal Council, Mr. Shiels' resolution respecting the New Hebrides was carried in an amended form. Mr, Shiels further moved, " That a standing committee should be appointed to inquire into the present condition of the British and French settlements in the islands, and the disability attending the removal of native teachers from one island to another." The motion was agreed to. § THE MISSING ARCHDUKE. Melbourne, January 23. The Government have received a request from Lord Knutsford to immediately report any information they may receive of the Archduke, who, under the name of John Orth, went on a trading voyage to South America, along with his wife, and is supposed to have been lost at sea. THE CHURCH DISPUTE. Sydney, January 23. Captain Rossi was summoned for disturbing the service at Goulborn Cathedral, but the charge was dismissed on technical grounds. SHIPPING. Sydney, January 23. Arrived: S.s. Wakatipu, from Wellington. Sailed : S.s. Elderslie, for Oamaru.
