PRESENTATION TO FATHER LENIHAN.
Sunday last bein<? the fourth anniversary of the opening of the Sacred Heart Church the services were of a very .special character. There was High Mass at ten a.m., and in the afternoon exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from three o'clock until vespers. Before the children dispersed, after Sundayschool at three o'clock, Master J. McGuire, on behalf of the Sunday-school children, presented Father Lenihan with a beauti-fully-carved music stand and an address, expressing their gratitude to him for the untiring zenl lie had always shown in their religious instruction, and their deep regret at his early departure from amongst them. Father Lenihan, in a few well-chosen words, thanked the children for their handsome present, and said that nothing could trive him such real pleasure as the fact that he possessed the affection and good feeling of these little ones. Though years.niisrhc roll by he would ever remember the children who had come forward in such a kindly spirit, and expressed their appreciation of the little work he had done for thorn. He urged them to continue to be regular in their attendance at Sundayschool. as in the present day the spread ot religious knowledge was in a sreat measure due to this good work, ,n conclusion, Father Lenihan expressed a wish that the children would sometimes renumber him in their daily prayers, and he promised in his turn not to forget them. The music stand, designed, carved, and in every way most artistically finished, by Mr. •). if. Edwards, forms an extremely handsome present. On Sunday evening Father Lenihan preached an eloquent and enlightening sermon on the Blessed Eucharist, after which there was a procession and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
