CYCLONE IN WEST AUSTRALIA

Perth, January 12. A destructive cyclone is reported from Lagrange Bay, Western Australia. It commenced on the evening of the 27th December, and lasted until midnight. It started 52 miles from Lagrange Bay, and travelled along at a very rapid rate, uprooting telegraph poles, breaking the insulators, and snapping the wires in several places. The only news yet received of the damage to stock is that Wittenoom and Co. lost 1000 sheep and 40 cattle by the cyclone.
