TO THE ELECTORS OF MANUKAU.
PER FA VOCE OF THE HERALD. Gentlemen, —A great deal of agony has been worked up over a statement I am supposed to have made, viz., that there was a "messenger" to every member of the House. What I said was bhat there was " pretty well a paid official of some sort, or other to every member of the House," audi I have yet to learn that this statement is bo grossly exaggerated as to be unworthy of credence. I claim that I have so far not exceeded the bounds of fan* criticism. Those who have heard me can judge for themselves. I am, yours respectfully, W. F. Buckland.
