A horse belonging to Mr. Farrell, bolted across the lino at Onehunga, last evening, and was so much injured that it had to be destroyed. The cart to which he was •attached was smashed.

At the Thames Police Court yesterday, the charge against Alexander A. Blackman of having fraudulently obtained the sum of £12 10s from one George Feel was dismissed. Mr. Kenrick appeared for defendant, and said that it was purely a misunderstanding between the parties concerned, which he sustained by evidence. A meeting in connection with the Wesleyan Home Mission will be held at St. John's Church, Ponsonby, to morrow evening, at which addresses will be delivered by well-known ministers and friends. Hauraki Paul, the native teacher, will also give an address. During the evening the ch.ldren of the Sunday-school will sing a number of their recent anniversary hymns.
