RAILWAY FARES, ETC.
TO THE KUITOK. Sir, —I never for one moment presumed to compare my poor little brains with those of Samuel Vaile, such n. piece of presumption was quite beyond me. All I asked was if he would kindly tell me if cheap fares sent people on to the country lands, whaft would prevent them coining into towns when work waa plentiful, and lota of amusement? He replied that "the cheaper the fare the greater the curse," and all that was required was " his system," but did not say whab his system was. 1 had heard it pub that " the further you go the less you pay." Now, " An Older Butter" kindly steps forward, and "' explains the system," so we have it at last without any display of irritability ; and as I have my all staked in this country, and want reformation applied wherever there may exist a grievance, I beg "An Older Buffer" will continue his explanations on the "change of system." I shall preserve his letter appearing- to-day for future reference. Meantime I am a simple Old Buffeb.
