Messrs. Arthur and Buddlk's Weekly RePort.—A busy week in all departments, more especially in produce. We have had a large supply and a Rood steady demand. Potatoes remain at about last week's values for sound lots, and la*ge quantities have been quitted. Good onions are much wanted, the market being quite bare. Fanners make of new cheese has come forward pretty freely, and has met with ready sale at from 4Jd to fid. Fresh butter has been entered in very large quantity during the week (over a ton), and has exceeded the demand. A lot had t.i be cleared at low prices. Sail butter practically unsaleable. Several lines of good dairy fed bacon and hams have come to hand and find ft steady sale at from 5d to 7d and 6d to Sd iespectively. A good supply of fresh eggs, which sold at full market value, Poultry were entered iu larger numbs* and realised high prices. A fair supply of pins, which wore in good demand and sold well. There has been a fine market for lemons during the week, and these, with several cases of local oranges, havo realised a considerable average advance on previous pi ices. During the week we have held five sales by auction. On Monday a clearing sale of tobacconist's stock, and on Tuesday a saleo: household furniture and effects at Surrey HilU. Both were well attended and fair business resulted. At the mart on Wednesday a sale of furniture aud effects, all of which sold well. On Thursday an assigned stock of drapery, hardware, etc., at the mart. A fine attendance of buyers, with good competition. Friday's market sale was largely attended throughout, and lasted over six hours. Notwithstanding the largo quantity of produ.e entered, the splendid space at our disposal in our new mart enabled us to display it all to the best advantage, and then left room for more. The usual produce sales have been largely attended, that of Friday being one of the best sales I have yet held, being well supplied, and closed after 6J hours selling with an unsatisfied demand for most kinds. Poultry was entered in large numbers, and sold at high prices. First-class table fowl* realised from 2s to 2s lid each; others Is 9d to Is lid; roosters iu condition. 2s Cd to I* 8d ; others 2s to 2s 4d ; well-bred fowls, sis 9d to Bs 3d ; ducks, 2s 3d to 2s 9d ; ducklings, lid to Is 7d ; geese, 4s Od to 6s ; turkey hens, 4s to 6s, gobblers 6» to 7s 3d; canaries, 2s to 4s 3d. Pigs: 83 were entered ; best lots fetched 10s to 16s 3d each, others Os fld to 9» 9d ; very small suckers and poor lots, 8s Od to 6s 9d : dressed pork, Ud to 2Jd. Rabbits, Is ; bares, 2s Od to 2s lOd. Potatoes Sound lota, £2 10s to £3; Oamaru seed, £3 to £4 ; potatoes in bad order, 12s to 16s per ton ; new, Shepherds, Jd to Id ; kidneys, Id to .Jd. Onions have been scarce, and short of demand at 2d to 2id ; carrots plentiful, at 15s to 26s per ton ; wheat is rather scarce at 3s 6d to 3b 9d ; maize, 3s 6d ; bran, £4; sharps£3lss to£4; cabbages, Cd to 3s 9d per sack and Cd to Is 3d per dozen; table turnips, carrots, and parsnips scarce at good prices: cucumbers, 5s to Ss per dozen. Baon and bams of good quality could have been quitted in larger quantities, and all to hand sold readily. Prime bacon, Od t« o}d, poor 4d to fid ; hams, prime, 7d, poor 4d to sd. Cheese has come to hand in good quantities and met with good demand. One ton of Alcaroa loaf cheese realised 4d to 4}d ; Poverty 'ay new loaf size, 6jd ; Taranaki large, 4d ; local new make, id to 4id. Butter, fresh, has been plentiful, and quality, in many cases, very poor. Prices have ruled from 3d to 6*l, one lot «{d. Kgg supplies still on the increase, but yet far short of demand. Hen eggs, 7d to BJd, average 7|d ; duct eggs, BJd to OJd, average 9d. Honey : A good quantity of new season's (section) fetched Sja, tin honey 3d. Lard, 3d. In fruit there baa been a good supply of lemons.
