William Molloy, who attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat whilst suffering from delirium tremenx, was yesterday taken down l'i the Aucklaud Hospital in the charge of Constable Jones. The lime-kilns <it the llakariniata range, the property of Mr. Cannell, havo been brought to such a condition that he will be able to load lime on the Waipa River at about 20s per ton. A man named George Walton, stableman at the Waikato Hotel, Hamilton, had ;i narrow escape here on Monday from meeting with a serious accident. He came down here duriim the day with the stallion Apollo, which he put in a loose box at the Waipa Hotel. Later on in the day, when in the box with the horse, he attempted to put the head-piece on, but the horse pulled back, and Walton struck it with the bridle. The horse at once turned round and lashed out with both hind feet, catching the (41'oom in the pit of the stomach. He was at once taken into the hotel and a doctor sent for, but whs able to get about again all right by the next morning.

IBY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Thursday. At tho monthly meeting of the Waikato Hospital Hoard to-day there were present : Messrs. Primrose (chairman), Seddon, Lane, Anderson, Davy, and Mills. Mr. T. G. Sandea applied for leave of absence, which was granted. In response to the application of Mrs. Taylor, formerly of Shuftesbury, for relief, the Board decided not to grant any, as her husband was williiif: to contribute towards the support of the children. The police report being favourable, "»s per week was granted to Airs. Barker, of Waiorongomai. It was decided to accept the terms of the Hamilton Borough Council of 5a per week rent for the offices. decided to have lot 59, Hamilton, which has been granted as an endowment in lieu r>f lot 69, fenced in at once. James Neville applied for a remission of some of his hospital fees, but as he was in receipt of good wages, it was not granted, but time was allowed for payment at £1 per month. The clerk of the Waipa County Council sent in the following list of endowments in Waipa County :—Section 101, Horotiu ; 137, Te kupu: 18and23b, l'ukete; and 339 and 341, township of Kihi kihi. The report re the water supply was deferred for another month. In his import the secretary stated there were Hti persons receiving aid, and male inmates in the refuge. The Board's finances were as follows :—Cr. : Balance last month. £184 13s 9d ; subsidy received, £126 Is sd; contributions due, £634 17s "id ; subsidy on same. £l!'J-l 17s "Jd ; hospital tees, £80; endowment fees, £10; total, £1050 !>s (id; less accounts passed for payment, £'2308h 10d, leaving all available balance of £1420 0s Sd. Owing to an omission fresh tenders have had to be called for the endowments. These will be receivable at the December meeting. The usual monthly relief was continued.
