ELECTRIC TRAMWAY. Melbourne, September 30. The accumulated system at the Sandhurst and Eaglehawk electric tramway has been pronounced a failure and the overhead system will be tried. SCULLING RACE. Rockhampton, September 30. At the Regatta to-day, Kemp, Neilson, and Stansbury, took part in the All-comers' Sculling Race. A good start was effected, the champion leading for the first mile by quite two lengths. Iu the last mile Stanbury, who had last throughout, made a tremendous spurt, and, soon overtaking Neilson, was gradually creeping on Kemp, but, unfortunately, he and Neilson fouled when abreast of the lightship, thus enabling Kemp to row in winner by a length and a-half, Neilson, a length away, third. Time, 17m. 15s.
