Colonel Price explained that his order to the men to fire low if the necessity arose, merely meant that they were to endeavour to disable and not to kill. The Commandant censured him.
TRAGEDY AT SANDHURST. Melbourne, September 29.
A woman named Whitford murdered her husband at Sandhurst while asleep by battering his head with an axe. She is insane.
THE TASMANIAN MINISTRY.
Hobart, September 29.
A motion has been tabled asking for a dissolution of Parliament on the ground that the Government Railway proposals were all rejected. The Government regard it as a want-of-confi-dence motion, and adjourned. The notice of motion was given without the consent of the Opposition.
