WELLINGTON NEWS NOTES.

[BY TELEGRAPH. — CORRESPONDENT ] Wellington, Monday. THE PREMIER. TnE medical advisers of Sir Harry Atkinson "fcrongly advise him to take a trip to England or India during the recess. A sea voyage and absolute rest were the remedies prescribed for his malady from the first. After the elections, probably, the Premier may be induced to think of it. It is said that Sir Harry Atkinson attributes the improvement in his health to the fact that the insomnia, which contributed so largely to his sufferings, has passed ar/ay owing to the use of the new medical preparation of sulphonel, which is sedative in its effects, without being a narcotic. THE CHIEF RAILWAY COMMISSIONER AND THE DISCHARGED RAILWAY SERVANTS. It was reported here to-day that Mr. McKerrow was on the wharf yesterday to meet the delegates to the Labour Conference, and that he exchanged greetings with the former delegates from the Railway Servants' Society. This would include Messrs. Wither and Elvines, who have been dismissed by the Commissioners. The truth is that Mr. McKerrow was on the wharf to meet another friend, and that any recognition of his former employes must be regarded as a casual coincidence, and the result of the personal kindliness and good feeling for which Mr. McKerrow is always distinguishable. SIR GEORGE GRKY. The member for Auckland Central bade his friends here good-bye to-day, as he goes North to-morrow. I learn that he has been invited to address the electors of Wanganui and Waitotara, but he is exceedingly reticent on all such matters, and it is impossible to say whether he will comply with the request.
