SPORTING.
THE A.J.C. MEETING. Two very interesting races are to take place to-day at Randwick. In the Craven Plate, which is run at weight for age, over a mile and a-quarter, Carbine will in all probability have to meet some very tough customers, as amongst those engaged are: Melos, Cuirassier, Marvel, Whimb<jrel, Gibraltar, Megaphone, and Prelude. The Derby winner will probably, however, die. reserved for the valuable Foal Stakes, ii) which he will have to encounter Gatling at a difference of 71b in the latter's favour, the weights of the pair being: Gibraltar, 9st 31b ; Gatling, Bst 101b. Whimberel is not engaged in the race.
