THE NEW TYRANNY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Trade Unions are so numerous and powerful now that the worst of tyrannies threatens all who are outside of the Unions, and the only apparent possibility of standing against and resisting the new tyranny is by a counter-move of noil-Unionists. Unionists now, even for the most frivolous thing, boycott a man; they would starve him and his family. _ They, moreover, prevent men beyond middle age from getting a livelihood. The best of employers are deserted at a moment's warning by workmen who would sue their employers for a week's wages if they dismissed them without a week's notice. In England, Australia, and America yes, and even in New Zealand— is nowseen that employers must unite also, or they will be beaten and ruined in detail. I fear we are entering on a period of anarchy, which will entail misery on whole communities. _ A good deal has been said about tha heroism of the men on strike, but I think that the fortitude and forbearance which employers have shown in the midst of this sea of trouble is beyond all praise.—l am. etc., Citizen.
