Earlv yesterday morning the s.s. Clansman Arrived from her weekly trip to the North, bringing a good number of passengers and a cargo comprising 2T>9 sacks and '29 cases gum, 1 horse, and sundries. The barque Devonjvort _ was entered out yesterday at the Customs for Lyttelton. She will take a quantity of suiiar from here, and will load back produce. Captain Farquhar, of the s.s. Clansman, reports the arrival at Whangaroa of the barque Northern Chief, to load timber there ,sor Sydney. The Northern S.S. Co. lias become involved in the strike, and the crews of the steamers in harbour left them yesterday. The vessels were discharged by free and volunteer labour. The s.s. Clansman is to be laid up for the present. The Northern S.S. Co. Wellington sailed about 11 o'clock last night on her usual trip to Whangarei, with a full company of free officers and crew. She took her usual amount of freight and passengers. The outgoing mail steamer Mariposa, from Sydney to San Francisco, is expected to arrive here from the former port to-morrow. The Union S.S. Co. announce that the steamer Manapouri will leave Auckland for Sydney on Tuesday next. The Northern S.S. Co.'s small steamer Douglas arrived frcm the Bay of Plenty last night with a cargo of 330 sacks maize and 270 sacks potatoes, and one passenger.
