THE WAIKATO HOSPITAL AND CHA RITABLE AID BOARD.
[FROM OCR OWK CORKESPOXDENT.] Hamilton', Thursday. At the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board meeting, yesterday, there were present: — Messrs. A. Primrose (chairman), Chepmell, Heaney, Sandes, Teasdale, Lang, Kallender, Anderson, Seddon, and Captain McPherson. The Rev. Mr. Biggs wrote asking leave to hold service at the Old Men's Refuge. Permission was granted, the service to be held on alternate Fridays. Mrs. Weeks, late Grey, of Huntly, wrote for an increase beyond 5s a weer allowed by the Charitable Aid Board. Request refused. The secretary reported there were 2.1 persons receiving aid, and 12 in the Refuge. After the month's accounts were paid th<rc would be a credit balance of £1681 os. The tender of Mr. Hattrick for uniform siits, Kaiapoi tweed, 'Ma 6d each, with cap ofeame material, and the tender t>l Mr. D. Salrion for boots, 5s 4d per pair, were accepud. The following tenders for lease of Hosp'tal endowments, wer ' also accepted :—Lot lil, Te Rapa, J. Hunt, £1 lls ; lot 34, one a,cie, Cambridge borough, R. Kirkwood, £l'p>r annum; lot 226, Slangariiko, J. R. Davidson, £2 ner acre. Trie House Committee were authorised to find out the cost of obtaining a hot air engine for pumping from the well. Dr. Kenny drew attention to tie want of a hot water supply for medical purposes. The House Committee was instricted to ascertain the cost of such supply and report to next meeting. The Chairman »tated that George Ames had been discharged from the Hospital as an incurable case, tl.c Refuge was, of course, open to him if h> chose to apply. The accounts were passed, and the same amount as last month for charitable relief was granted.
