MASONIC.
LODGE ST. ANDREW. Tin; regular monthly meeting of Lodge St. Andrew, 418, S.C. (under dispensation from the Grand Lodge of New Zealand), was held last evening. There was a large attendance. The D.G.M., Brother Russell, Brother M. Nieeol, G. Sup., and the officers of the Grand Lodge N.Z., wore received with the usual honours. There were also present: Brother Meadowerofb, I'.G.S. W. of the (/rand Lodge of Victoria ; Brother Logan, W.M. of Lodge Albion, and his officers ; also representatives from Lodges Ant, United Service, and many other lodges. After tho .usual business— which included two initiations and four affiliations —Brother Meadowerofb gave a very interesting account of the success which attended the formation of the Grand Lodge in Victoria, and said he felt sure that recognition would be accorded to the Grand Lodge of New Zealand by all the Australian Lodges in a very short time, and that New Zealand Masons would soon realize the importance of local self-government, and do all they could to establish on a firm basis the foundation that had been laid, and which he trusted would succeed. He felt sure that if the mother Grand Lodges were conversant with the state of affairs in New Zealand, they would speedily by recognition prevent a continuance of the bad feeling that now existed. The Lodge closed at 10. If) p.m., after a very enjoyable evening. All masons desirous of continuing to work under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, aro invited by advertisement in another column, to be present at the meeting of Lodge St. Andrew, 418, S.C., to bo held this evening in the Freemasons' Hall. Brother G. S. Graham, D.G.M., E C., and officers of the District Grand Lodge have accepted invitations, and will be present. Lodges Waitemata, Prince of Wales, Eden, and Ponsonby will also attend.
