THE MILITARY EPISODE.
London, July 9. Considerable excitement was caused at Portsmouth by the ordering of the Inniskilling Rifles to London. The order was, however, countermanded. The authorities admit that the Grenadiers who mutinied were overworked. Lord Salisbury, referring to the matter in the House of Lords, said it was unimportant and accidental. The Hon. Mr. Stanhope, Secretary for War, is inquiring into the outbreak.
