[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Hamilton, Friday. A max named Frederick Wilkinson, who came up from Pokeno by yesterday's train, was to-day, on the evidence of Drs. Murch and Kenny, committed to the Asylum as of unsound mind by Messrs. Knox and Johnson, J.P.'s. The monthly meeting and special meeting of the Waikato County Council lapsed today for want of a quorum. There were present : Messrs. Johnson, Coates, and Kallender. The removal of the import duty on flax in America is giving great encouragement to Haxmillcrs. Last week a local mill sold 40 tons of flax at £19 los per ton. RANGIKIRI, Friday. There was only one tender for the tlax growing on Dr. Tremcarue's estate, that of Messrs. Bolton and McMahon, at 3s (id per ton, which was accepted. Five hundred acres of grass sown on this estate looks equal to any grass land in the Waikato. The Waikato County Council have resolved to rebuild two culverts on the Matakura Road, the want of which has rendered it impassable for horsemen.
