TYPHOID IN MELBOURNE. Melbourne, February 13. Though typhoid fever is more preva« lent than last year, the disease is not so fatal.
ACTION FOR LIBEL. Melbourne, February 13. Mr. J. T. Brown, ex M.L.A., for Manduray, has received £500 damages from the Age for libel. The amount claimed by Brown was £20,000.
' RED RUST IN WHEAT. Melbourne, February 13. An intercolonial conference will pro* bably meet during the first week in March to make inquiries into the red rust, which has been playing such havoc with wheat crops in the agricultural districts.
