CATERING AT THE DUNEDIN RIFLE MEETING.
ACTION FOR DAMAGES. . [BY telegraph.—niEss ASSOCIATION*.] Donedix, Wednesday. At the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day, D. Vannini sued Captain Somervillo for £100 damages in connection with the caterina contract at the recent Exhibition Riflo Mooting. Sir R. Stout said the plaintiff had at a sale of the catering for tho Exhibition Rifle Meeting, and at which Captain Somerville was present, bought the right for catering: at tho meeting. Captain Somerville had stated that there would be about 450 on the ground, and had guaranteed 300. He would show that there never were 300 men attending the catering tent, ana the plaintiff having had preparations made for them, thereby suffered a considerable loss. After evidenco had heen given, Mr. Carew reserved judgment till Friday.
