Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.— London, January 23. The Portuguese in New York and Rio Janeiro are reported to be boycotting English traders. Mr. Goschen, speaking at a meeting in London, said that mediation would be ridiculous pending the withdrawal of the Portuguese from the disputed territory. Mr. Gladstone, speaking at Chester, said he should withhold his judgment for the present.
