OUR JUBILEE SUPPLEMENT.

With the New Zealand Herald of Wednesday, the 29th January, we propose to issue a Jubilee Supplement in commemoration of the occasion. lb will be a complete history of the colony. A sketch of the early days will be given, showing the condition of the Maoris when they first began to come in contact with Europeans. This will reach to 1840, when the colony was founded. Wa shall then show the growth of population, how the lands of the colony have been dealt with, the agricultural returns, the shipping, exports and imports, banks, savings banks, education, life insurance, friendly societies, sheep and wool, frozen meat, gold, kauri gum, timber, coal, fisheries, revenue and expenditure, and all the branches of our social and political progress. A full and complete picture of the colony will thus be furnished, forming most! interesting and instructive reading, and most suitable for sending to friends abroad. The Jubilee Supplement will also contain a review of our regatta celebrations, including various interesting reminiscences of the olden time; and notices of the principal visitors, with portraits. With Wednesday's paper will also be issued fax. similes of two proclamations: one issued by Governor Hobson on the day after his landing; and the other, some months after, respecting the proceedings of the New Zealand Company's settlers at Port Nicholson.
